APPOINTED TO PLYMOUTH NEW TOWN TEAM
We’re delighted to share that Makower Architects are part of the WSP-led multidisciplinary consortium appointed by Plymouth City Council to help shape the city’s ambitious City Centre Living Vision.
The masterplan will explore how underused areas of Plymouth city centre can be transformed into sustainable, vibrant neighbourhoods, delivering thousands of new homes alongside greener streets, improved walking and cycling connections, and lively public spaces. The work is supported by Homes England and the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities and has been identified by the government’s New Towns Task Force as a potential new town location.
The wider team includes Stirling Prize-winning practice Mæ, leading the masterplanning of up to 10,000 new homes, alongside Howells, LHC Design, Lavigne Lonsdale, Gillespie Yunnie Architects and DNCO.
