Makower Architects are delighted to announce we have received unanimous approval at committee for our 850-home scheme on the River Roding in Barking. 

Heather Macey, Makower Architects director, said: "This is a landmark moment, delivering much-needed homes alongside a major new riverside park for the community.

What makes this project so special is the transformation of a hard-surfaced car park into a unique riverside park – reconnecting the town with its river and stimulating opportunities for intergenerational interaction and play. Alongside 36% affordable housing, the scheme delivers an 860% increase in biodiversity and a new wildlife observation centre, created in partnership with the River Roding Trust, ensuring the river is not only protected but enhanced for generations to come.
