LONDON ROAD GETS CONSENT

We are incredibly proud to announce we have received unanimous approval for our proposals for a 200-home development at London Road, Barking after three years of close consultation with planning officers and the community.

This BTR development for Barryvale in the heart of Barking introduces a striking 30 storey building, elegant in proportion, rich in material quality and carefully considered to balance with the cluster of other tall buildings coming forward in the town centre.

The building delivers a variety of fabulous apartments, including a larger proportion of family homes and an exeptional series of rooftop gardens and play space. The top most roof space is to be an amazing garden with panoramic views and will be publicly accessible.

A significant change to the surrounding public realm will make a huge contribution to Barking, providing a new pocket garden, a new connection between London Road and James Street, and a redesigned tree-lined pavement and bus stop on London Road. The ground floor will be activated by two new community retail spaces including a new pub venue.

Project Director, Adam Peavoy, said: 'It was wonderful to receive such strong backing for this project from the planning committee in Barking last night. The unanimous vote reflects how skillfully the design integrates a tall, 30-storey building into an incredibly constrained town centre site. The project will provide much needed homes and associated community facilities including a dramatic rooftop social space. We really look forward to delivering this future Barking landmark.'
