Tim founded Makower Architects in 2013 after spending over two decades with renowned London practice Allies and Morrison; during which he completed many significant projects as partner, such as the masterplan for King’s Cross Central, Bankside 123, Liverpool One, Paternoster Square, St Andrew’s Bow, Msheireb Doha, and Qatar World Cup 2022. Tim’s 35 years of wide-ranging experience in architecture, masterplanning, place-making and urban heritage gives Makower Architects a strong focus on culture and context. The practice has grown into a firmly established company with a diverse portfolio of substantial projects around the UK and beyond.
Tim is also the founder of Homestead, a charitable project with a mission to create a national network of community-based, therapeutic supported-housing for people with psychosis. Tim is the author of Touching the City: Thoughts on Urban Scale, published by Wiley, and is the founder of the charity initiative 10x10 for Article 25.
Tim studied at the University of Cambridge and the Royal College of Art in London.
