BRENT CROSS TOWN
A park town for future London
Brent Cross Town is an ambitious and visionary regeneration project in North London. Developed by Related Argent in partnership with Barnet Council, the scheme reimagines an under-used industrial suburb as a vibrant new town centre.
Designed as a ‘park town for future London’, the masterplan delivers 6,700 new homes, 27,000 jobs, 50 acres of parks, playing fields and public open space, as well as a state-of-the-art indoor sports facility. At the heart of the masterplan is a generous network of green corridors, active travel routes as well as a new rail station connecting homes, workplaces, and civic destinations. Together, these elements form the foundations for a rich and healthy neighbourhood that enables people to live, work and grow in one place, fostering healthy lifestyles and a strong sense of community.
As co-architects within the masterplanning team led by Allies and Morrison, Makower Architects have helped set the foundations for a bold new approach to town-making: connected, green, environmentally responsible with a commitment to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2030 and grounded in long-term community wellbeing.

An integral element of the masterplan is an extensive green open space provision alongside a state-of-the-art indoor sports and play venue to turn Brent Cross into an unrivalled multi-sport destination.
Our role focused on shaping the spatial, architectural, and experiential qualities that will define Brent Cross Town.
Key contributions included:
Plot parameter development, through detailed density and massing studies for the commercial districts.
Testing activation strategies for streetscapes and analysing the emerging character of new places across the masterplan.
Shaping the principal civic spaces, particularly the central square, establishing its form, sense of enclosure and relationship to surrounding plots.
Defining the arrival experience from the new rail station and ensuring strong connections between commercial areas and the new community park.

Views over Claremont Park: buildings and public spaces are in constant dialogue, pulling people in and encouraging them to spill out and linger.
